Great news from the BMF – British Motorcyclists Federation in Northern Ireland – Biker safety cards re-launched. A safety initiative for motorcyclists has been re-launched in Northern Ireland during the NI Motorcycle Festival at the Eikon Exhibition Centre in Lisburn. Called Biker NI Safety Cards, the free cards are intended to help protect motorcyclists in the event of a road traffic collision. The Finnish rider organisation - MP 69 - have introduced their version of the CRASH Card to motorcyclists in their country, the "Medical Card" serves exactly the same function in Finland for transmitting personal information after an accident. Finnish motorcycle website Motouutiset.fi reports that, "Yesterday on Thursday, we released a story about how a motorcyclist keeps important information for himself, so that, in the event of an accident, first aid workers receive information about affiliation, drug susceptibility, medication and its quality as soon as possible. The rider safety initiative “Crash Card” has been launch in the Australian state of New South Wales – NSW – to deliver the CRASH Card scheme, free to motorcycle riders across New South Wales. Hornsby Shire Council’s Traffic & Road Safety team they have joined forces with NSW Ambulance, NSW Police Force and Fire & Rescue NSW to adopt the CRASH Card scheme, which has been successfully implemented around the world, due to the higher than average number of incidents involving motorcyclists in the local area. For 2016 Bikesafe the rider assessment scheme run by police forces across the UK and in Northern Ireland by the PSNI, has enhanced its workshop content. The merit award recognises the Biker NI Safety (CRASH) Card commitment to road safety.
