The 9th July 2015 saw the laying to rest of Doctor John Hinds, after his fatal accident at the Skerries 100 practice session while providing medical cover. For those from the world of motorcycling and motorcycle racing in Ireland no introduction is needed to “Doc John” and his colleague Dr Fred McSorley as the “flying doctors” of Irish road racing and the Medical Team of the Motorcycle Union of Ireland (Ulster Centre). Paramedics and Road Safety Professionals Warn about FAKE Motorcycle Helmets The Ambulance Motorcycle Club are warning motorcyclists about the dangers of purchasing motorcycle helmets on Internet auction sites. Motorcyclists are required by law to wear a safety helmet which must be type approved. This single piece of personal safety equipment is vital in protecting the rider against injury in an accident. Our friends at MAG Ireland – The Irish Motorcyclists’ Association – have launched their new membership card to include an ICE number. Their new plastic credit card style membership card includes all pertinent membership information plus a unique and simple addition – An ICE (In Case of Emergency) number. The ICE Number programme enables first responders such as paramedics, fire fighters and Gardaí, as well as hospital staff, to contact next of kin and obtain important medical information in the event of a serious road accident. Irish Wolfhounds MCC – Get Their Cards!

The Irish Wolfhounds MCC is one of the latest motorcycle clubs to request and receive the Biker NI Safety – CRASH – cards. Based in Belfast, Ireland the club members and bikes are made up of all kinds of people and bikes from, sports, tourer’s and cruisers from 1400’s, 1200’s, right down to 125’s. The club enjoy their motorcycles and head out for runs whenever they can.
