Motorcycle Safety Gets a Royal Seal of Approval UK Paramedic and Secretary General of the UK Ambulance Motorcycle Club, Ian Burrell was rewarded for his services to motorcycle safety in the British New Years Honors List. Ian, the founder of the CRASH card helmet safety program, adopted in the USA as Rider Alert, was made a Member of The British Empire (MBE) by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. At Right To Ride one of the motorcycle safety initiatives we have been involved in is, the Biker NI Safety Card, which is the Northern Ireland version of the Ambulance Motorcycle Clubs “Crash Card”. The CRASH Card scheme involves the motorcyclist placing a card inside their helmet, as a medical alert, along with a small sticker which is placed on the right hand side of the riders helmet, this alerts emergency responders that the card is carried inside the lining of the helmet. As we wait for news for funding to enable us to print another 5,000 Biker NI Safety Cards, we thought we would let you know who were recently sent batches of the cards. The Brothers of the Third Wheel – Ireland The Brothers of the Third Wheel – Ireland received a batch of cards and at their recent Shimma Valley Centre Ride Out in aid of the “Northern Ireland Cancer Fund For Children” they handed out the card to riders attending. Bikesafe Ducati Panigale

Police bikesafe with delivery of high performance Ducati – Ulster Grand Prix The Police have taken delivery of a fully liveried, Ducati Panigale high performance motorbike, to be used during the Ulster Grand Prix this week. Regarded as the Ferrari of the bike world, the Italian made machine will be used by Police officers to highlight the road safety message to bikers attending the road racing event. The Biker NI Safety Card attended the Cookstown Motorcycle Show, held on Saturday 29th June 2013. The show took place at the First Presbyterian Church Grounds Cookstown. The Biker NI Safety Card welcomes VloggingitNI as the latest group to receive a stack of the Ambulance Motorcycle Club based “Crash Card” in Northern Ireland! The card is supported by the major agencies involved in keeping us safe on the road: PSNI Bikesafe – Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) – Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS).
